CHIPSET
The CSP4 uses Intel® 875P chipset featuring Intel® Performance Acceleration Technology (Intel® PAT). Intel® PAT provides a faster path between the processor cache memory and DDR system memory that increases overall system performance while taking full advantage of the new Intel® Pentium® 4 processor's 800MHz Front Side Bus (FSB). The CSP4 features a dual channel DDR266/333/400 memory interface, 400MHz, 533MHz or 800MHz FSB support, an AGP 3.0 video interface with 4x data transfers and dual Serial ATA/150 ports. Additional chipset capabilities include USB 2.0, PCI-X/PCI, Ultra ATA/100, Intel® Communications Streaming Architecture (CSA) support for direct-connect Gigabit Ethernet and a 266MB/s Hub Interface to Intel's E6300ESB I/O Controller Hub.

BIOS (FLASH)
The CSP4 uses AMIBIOS8®. The flash BIOS resides in the 82802AC Firmware Hub (FWH). AMIBIOS8 contains features such as:
Support for flash devices for BIOS upgrading via floppy interface
Integrated support for USB mass storage devices such as USB CD-ROM, CD-RW, etc.
Boot from network, USB mass storage devices, IDE or ATAPI
Serial port console redirection to support headless operation
SATA/ATA/ATAPI support includes 48-bit LBA addressing to support SATA/ATA/IDE hard drive capacities over 137GB
CACHE MEMORY (L2 AND L1)
The Intel® Pentium® 4 processor's level two (L2) cache memory is an integrated on-die Advanced Transfer Cache memory that is 8-way set associative and runs at the full processor core frequency. Processor options are available that provide either a 512K or 1M L2 cache memory. Intel® Celeron® processors have a 128K L2 cache.
All processors have a 12K L1 Execution Trace Cache. Processors which have 1M of L2 cache memory have a 16K data cache; all other processors have an 8K data cache.
DDR266/333/400 MEMORY
The two DIMM sockets on the CSP4 support a total memory capacity of 2GB. The 875P has an Intelligent Memory Manager feature that automatically detects the speed and placement of the DDR DIMMs and applies the appropriate memory frequency and speed to the DDR266/333/400 interface. The interface can operate as either a single-channel or dual-channel DDR interface. With one DIMM installed, the interface operates as a single-channel interface supporting a PC2100, PC2700 or PC3200 unbuffered 184-pin ECC or non-ECC DDR DIMM. Installing one DIMM produces an interface bandwidth of either 2.1GB/s, 2.7GB/s or 3.2GB/s. Dual-channel DDR interface operation occurs by installing two identical DIMMs, which doubles the interface bandwidth to 4.2GB/s, 5.4GB/s or 6.4GB/s.
PCI-X/PCI BUS INTERFACE
The CSP4's 32/64-bit PCI-X/PCI bus interface connects from the SBC's I/O Controller Hub directly to the backplane and is capable of running at a 33MHz or 66MHz bus speed.
An additional PCI Local bus, which runs at 32-bit/33MHz, supports one of the board's 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet controllers and the optional Ultra160 SCSI controller.
ISA BUS INTERFACE
The CSP4's ISA bus interface supports legacy ISA slots, with the following limitations: ISA Bus Mastering, 16-bit I/O and 16-bit memory accesses are not supported. When a 16-bit access is executed to the CSP4's ISA bus, the transfer will be divided into two 8-bit accesses. If the ISA option card being used only operates in word, i.e.16-bit, mode, transfer data will be missed. If the ISA option card supports both byte, i.e. 8-bit, mode and word mode, the data transfer will be correct, but throughput performance will be reduced.
DUAL EIDE ULTRA ATA/100 INTERFACES
Dual high performance PCI Bus Master EIDE interfaces are capable of supporting up to two IDE disk drives each in a master/slave configuration. Supports Ultra ATA/100 with synchronous ATA mode transfers up to 100MB per second.
DUAL USB INTERFACES
The CSP4 supports two high-speed USB 2.0 ports for data transfers up to 480Mbit/sec. It also supports USB 1.1 devices for data transfers at 12 or 1.5Mbit/sec. The Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an interface allowing for connectivity to many standard PC peripherals via an external port.
SYSTEM HARDWARE MONITOR
The Winbond W83783S chip supports hardware monitoring. The functions monitored are voltage (+2.5V, +3.3V, +/-12V, +5V and VCORE), fan speed and temperature. The CSP4 hardware monitor driver allows the user to program the monitor limits to provide a trigger point for the application software. The user's application program can monitor these trigger points in order to send system alert messages or perform corrective actions.
